Morse Collectors gets First Prize

Congratulations to David Cooke and Crawford Anderson-Dillon who’ve won First Prize at the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival. This means it can compete for the Oscars. The Morse Collectors was finished here in Streetmonkey, where we tightened the initial edit, colour graded the digital footage and worked on a number of difficult effect shots. Check out the great article at NI Screen.

New Awards

BBC NI picked up bronze awards for two of their promos at this year’s Shark Awards in Kinsale, both of which featured key special effect shots produced by Streetmonkey. The winning promos were “Get Here” and “Blueprint Volcano”, and you’ll find them in the movie archive on the “Our Work” page. We are pleased that our work has yet again claimed awards at this international festival.

New 3D Power

We have just taken delivery of Cinema 4D release 11. Most significantly this now means we can offer our clients much more realistic lighting and improved render times.

BT Blocks

AVBrowne commissioned us to create their latest 3D commercial for BT Ireland. We designed the icons and created everything else in Cinema 4D. Alongside the two commercials we created a series of print renders and a variety of online materials. Check out the ads here.

BT Economise

AVBrowne in Belfast commisioned us to produce a 3D animated commercial for BT Northern Ireland. The objects were all modeled and rendered in Cinema 4D. Check it out here.

LIDL

We are presently producing eleven animated commercials for LIDL in Northern Ireland. Triang created the scripts and commisioned us to make their ideas come to life. Some of the already-aired ads on available to look at here.

Congratulations Tern

Tern (next door to us) have just won the 2008 Irish Film & Television Award for Best Single Documentary "At Home with the Clearys" (Titled "The Holy Show" on BBCNI)
Being neighbourly we produced a small insert for the doc: check it out here.

Award Winner

We are proud to announce that TDP's Veda commercials have won "Best TV Commercial" and came runner up in "Best Piece of Marketing" in this years Ulster Grocers Awards.
Great news for all involved, you can see the ads we created under "V" in the "Our Work" section.

Volcano!!!

BBC NI commissioned us to create a realistic volcano to trail their upcoming Blueprint series. A difficult task, but as usual we were up for the challenge. Created using a variety of different pieces of software and researched extensively, we created a close to photo-real active volcano sitting in our own green land. Check it out for yourself here.

Woah there, horsie

Following on from last years triple crown, firm favourite Streetmonkey maintained their track record as they bolted from the starting gate went all out on the final furlong to bring in a winner for FireIMC's Irish Daily Mirror campaign. Check it out in our Recent Work section.

Streetmonkey Vs Pat Cash

Streetmonkey were invited to challenge Pat Cash in a tennis match to raise awareness for the USPCA.
Needless to say Pat Cash won but his motion graphics were pretty poor. Winking

The Power to Save

This project features a little bit of everybody at Streetmonkey. The intro sequences of the three ads had to feature as many different styles as the animation team could manage within the timeframe.  The 3D sink was the most complicated scene to render - it took an entire weekend to produce 4 seconds of footage. The crowd scene at the end was shot in Hi-Def in a green screen studio and is made up of less than 20 people (wearing different outfits to make it less obvious), whom we cut out and reproduced randomly in a virtual 3D set. The VO was provided by television's Joe Lindsay.

Ian Lawrence makes Creative Review

Ok its not a double page spread. Ian entered the E4 sting competition a while back and has been shortlisted to the final 25. The article is in the Feb 2008 issue on page 14. Feel free to vote for Ian's animation to win at the E4 site.

Megamilk

Genesis advertising asked us to produce their latest animated commercials for Dale Farm MegaMilk. The animations are a combination of hand drawn elements and After effects compositing in 3D layers. The carton was created in C4D. Check them out here.

BBC Radio Ulster

BBCNI commissioned us to create a striking look for their latest promotional campaign. The task was to create a 3D VU meter which looked like it was physically in the studio, some shots are also moving on tracks. A difficult task - but once we got our heads around how to control 3D geometry with a sound file we were conformable with the rest. BBCNi were very happy with the final result. Check it out here.

Bank of Ireland

Ardmore provided us with over an hour of footage of young people talking about financial issues, which we edited down to a more animation-friendly two minutes. All the images were drawn on A4 paper with a chunky black marker and scanned into Photoshop for touch-up, then animated in After Effects. We developed an automated lip-synch solution which made the characters' mouths move automatically with the voice track. There were many late nights and weekends involved to get the project ready in time so I injected bits of humour here and there. Well they seemed funny but we were high on marker fumes at the time . Young man, there's a place you can go…Check it out here.

Tayto

Fire IMC commissioned us to create a short sketch commercial for Tayto Advantage crisps. The job was 1 day shoot over 2 locations. Check it out here.

Guinness DVD

We've just completed a 15 minute DVD featuring ten of the best Irish Rugby moments for RMG Target. It will be used in marketing and promotion of Guinness' six nations sponsorship throughout Ireland.

Bluecube

RMG Target in Dublin asked us to take Blue Cube's signature character - who had previously only appeared in print - and animate him for a 30 second tv ad. We had to show the range of financial services available, and do it all in a fun and engaging way. Check it out here.

IKEA promotional DVD

Just before Christmas we completed the launch video for IKEA Belfast for Genesis Advertising. Shown at the opening of the flagship store, it charts the history of IKEA and the huge build up to the store finally opening its first branch in Ireland.

Happy New Year

We wish you a happy 2008, we are a bit behind on updating the site - we will have some new stuff uploaded as soon as things calm down.
