Editing
Here at Streetmonkey we use Final Cut Studio , the industry
standard application for digital movie production, and all of our
key design staff have been trained to a high standard in the use of
this application by Apple certified tutors.
Our edit suite is based around FCP
running on an 8 Core Intel Xeon workstation using an internal and
external Drobo RAID for storage and protection.
We use a Black Magic HD PRO card for importing and displaying in
realtime the full range of HD formats. We can also monitor in full
HD in realtime on a 40" 1080p LCD Panel alongside a traditional CRT
Monitor.
Our main edit suite can facilitate all modern video formats and
correct in up to 4:4:4 colour if needed.
Final Cut is used extensively in modern film production and is
embraced by many famous directors such as David Fincher and the
Coen Bros. Recent movies edited using Final Cut Pro include Where
The Wild Things Are, Burn After Reading and No Country For Old
Men.
FCP is a very flexible system and allows us to perform complex
colour correction (and many post effects) before we transfer the
project to After Effects (AE) for more complex post-production
work. All colour correction is handled by the additional plug-in
software suite which is written by
Stuart T.
Maschwitz who has worked on a wide range of Hollywood
blockbusters. This same suite of colour tools is also transferable
to After Effects which keeps our workflow simple. Read more about
