Effects & Compositing

Streetmonkey uses After Effects CS5 for the majority of our visual effects work. This application uses plug-in based architecture to expand on its abilities and gives you access to a vast array of special effects and post-production tools. After effects is one the leading tools for compositing and animation. We use After Effects for all colour grading, more info on this process can be found here.
Secondary grading is also done mostly in After Effects where our colour/grading suite can be controlled more precisely than with a traditional edit package.
All grading is done using plug-in software for After Effects created by Stu Maschwitz.
Stu Maschwitz was the co-founder and chief technology officer of The Orphanage, a visual effects company that was based in California. He has worked as senior visual effects supervisor on several films. He previously worked at Industrial Light and Magic. We trust his colour and grading tools more than any others as they are built from the perspective of a Holywood film colourist.


After Effects also supports RED footage in its native format which allows the highest quality possible digital film material to be imported without time costly conversion.
